My first post (finally)

David

It's a first time I go on a trip with other photographers. We are constantly in someone else's frame. It’s a strange feeling. We have a lot of photographs with photographers on it. It’s something like a meta-photograph.

On Friday we met people from diffrent placements where we will work. Rose from the Hospital told us about the project called Rebirth, about different community art actions that will be done around the destruction of the old maternity ward and the construction of a new one.
These days, when old social rituals loose their importance, community artists (and cultural animators) re-create new rituals to help people pass through difficult situations. They create new metaphores bassed on cultural antropology and social consultation that give communities a symbolic path to pass from one stage to another.

HANDMADE – Culture Animation: Learning Through PracticeCulture Animation Unit (Institute of Polish Culture, University of Warsaw), Creative Communities Unit and Laundry (association of artists based in West Midlands) are working on a set of placements in the UK for young culture animators from Poland.
The placements examine intersections between community arts and culture animation in their historical, cultural and theoretical contexts (through a series of workshops, discussions and participation in university modules run by CCU), linking them with individual practice of young artists and British arts organisations with which they will be working.
The project is realized within the European Commission Leonardo da Vinci Programme.
